My Prayer

My Prayer

God Father Almighty, we raise our hearts to you
In times of grief and sorrow, all we need is you
Whose name is the mightiest above anything
And is the most sacrosanct beyond everything

Oh Lord, forgive us from all our sins that we’ve done
And please let all our worries and miseries be gone
For being self-centered and sometimes judgmental
But instead, you treat us very exceptional

Thank you for all the blessing you have given us
For all the strength and wisdom that you’ve shared with us
For all the times of misery and hopelessness
You are always been there to relieve the sadness

Oh Jesus, again we are asking for your help
During the times when I heard people weep and yelp
Please protect and guide the victims of the monsoon
And help them recover and rebuild very soon

Oh Father Almighty, please save their lives from death
And help them eradicate all their tears and fret
Please give them strength and courage to start a living
And aid them to relieve the pain and suffering

Oh Lord, once again we thank you for all of these
All the blessings and something that we shouldn’t miss
Oh, please bless all my countrymen and fellowmen
And this is what we ask, in Jesus name, AMEN.

Copy Reading: Developing Communication Skills, Enhancing English Proficiency

Ganito Ka Rin Ba Mag-ENGLISH?

October 1996

To Marije,

I am not surprise or wander why Dennis leave you why? What reason can you think about but you’re very fat body. I thought before that Dennis only use me to his toy but sooner and later I’m realize that he really can’t not beared or stomached to be with you anymore because at first, Dennis say he could not stand you’re habit of making pakialam all his walks (lakad) and always calling to their house what he go home or this or that.

And then he say he get ashame to me either in school or in his family and then asking you to exercise you’re very very, very fat body. But you hate it. Thought you’re the most preetiest girls he knows about. What do you think you are “Beautiful Girl” of Jose Marie Chan?

Even you are beautiful face (to your think) you do not have the right to called me whatsoever or else difference name one time or the other for the real purposed to insults my personality because I’m never call you names either in front of Dennis or in the backs of Dennis, but if you start already to calling me different name, I don’t have any other choice but to call you other different name to. Like you are a PIG, FAT, OBESSED, OVERWEIGHT, AND UGLY SHAPE girl. Shame to you’re body that is to a BUDING.

You can’t not blame Dennis for exchanging you to me because I am the more sexier that you when you look to us in the mirror. I’m repeat again that you are like Ike Lozada when she is a girl.

Love,
The Sexiest Girl of D.M.
P.S.

You say that I’m the bad breathe but who is Dennis want to kissed. Me or you? And the final is me. There you go.

My Viewpoints about the Letter

I dare, most of us are fond of writing different types of letter, oftentimes a friendly type. But when I first discerned the word choices in the above letter, I can’t believe that such letter would exist. And as I go on reading, should I say “Ah… this letter needs to be copy read…” and that exactly how it goes.

Awesome! That was my initial feedback about this letter. Mind you, not because of the splendid word choices, but because of the erroneous sentence structures and language rules. In other words, profuse wrong grammars and word choices totally congested the letter. Well, undeniably the recipient of this letter would really have a hard time reading and understanding what the letter is all about.  In order for the addressee not to get bewildered with this, the letter must undergone copy reading. Hopefully this would really help me doing this since I am a copy reader of the school publication. Providentially I was able to come up with a copy-edited letter below. The grammars are scrutinized and corrected accordingly, the punctuations are checked, adapted words from Filipino language were omitted and the text was fully-furnished as a whole.

Written below is my copy-edited version of the letter. As you can see, evidently the grammars improved and when read, it sounds better and more pleasant that before. Although the technicalities were corrected, the thought and essence of the letter are still sealed with it. Hope this would help the addressee further understand the content of the letter.

                                                                                                                   October 1996

Dear Marije,

I’m not in one way or another astounded about the reason why Dennis left you. There’s no other reason behind but your plump body. At first, I was taken for granted that Dennis will be in love with me but sooner I realized that he just cannot bear to be with you any longer since form the very start, Dennis could not stand your course of habit of arbitrating with his actions and activities and constantly asking where is he going.

In relation to that, he always gets reluctant whenever I’m with him. He even asked you to work out to keep your body fit, but you extremely abhor it, thinking that you are what Jose Marie Chan is referring in his single “Beautiful Girl.”

Even you got the most gorgeous look (if that's what you're thinking), you don’t have the right to call me anyway you want just to insult my personality since I never call you that way even when Dennis is here or not. But if that’s what you really want, well I don’t have any choice but to call you such.

After all, there’s no any valid reason for you to blame Dennis upon leaving you with a broken heart and having myself as his love interest, because I am sexier that you are. And your looks are closely similar to that of Ike Lozada if he’ll be a girl.

                                                                                              Love,
                                                                                              The Sexiest Girl of D.M.

PS:
You said that I have a bad breath, but whom among the two of us wanted to be kissed by Dennis, me or you? Who else, of course that’s me. There you go.

How do you find blogging as our informal theme?

Blogging as Informal Theme: Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down?

Nowadays, it seemed that technology absolutely prevailed throughout the society where we thrive. Why is it so? Simply because of the recurrent use of computers and several other gadgets in school projects, this includes brochures, pamphlets and blogs. And speaking of blogs, we are no longer neophytes in making such since we already had the blogging way back 2011 when we were in the primary year. And this current year, we are used to create our own blogs in accordance to our Informal Theme under English III. But before we dig deeper, let me just ask “How do you find blogging as our informal theme? Is it thumbs up or thumbs down?”

Several insights were drawn, numerous experiences were shared. That’s how this year’s blogging goes on. I can’t even think of a single reason why for some, blogging is such a burden. In fact, blogging as our informal theme makes things right and easy since we’ll be doing it at home so obviously we got ample time to do such. Other than that, blogging is such a magnificent way to enhance the English communication skills of every individual particularly scholars like us by means of the globally-competitive technologies. Meaning to say, it’s just like two birds in one shot. Our English proficiency was not just being augmented but furthermore the up-to-the-minute technologies were employed.  But in one way or another, when not employed appropriately, this may probably cause misapprehension between an individual to another. Better to think about our topic twice or even thrice before having it posted so as not to hinder the rights of everyone. In addition to this, when constructing a blog, think of some words which sound extraordinary. It is suggested to use words which are seldom spoken in order to hook the attention of the readers. But while composing a blog, mull over the number of words. Verbosity should be avoided so as not to make the readers dull and tedious.

Well, I guess it seems that lack of interest is the principal reason why most of the students nowadays abhorrent such activities like making blogs or other related skill-enhancing activities. But generally, having blogs are awfully advantageous especially during the times of interview since we already have the background of never-before-heard English vocabulary. So for me, blogging as informal theme is absolutely thumbs up.
